Happy Birthday Satch

today is Louis Armstrong's Birthday,
(though he claimed to have been born on the Fourth of July, his actual birthday is August 4, 1901)

On September 24, 1957 Eisenhower sent 1,200 paratroopers from the 101st Airborne into Little Rock, Arkansas and the next day soldiers escorted nine black students into all-white Central High School

“If you decide to walk into the schools with the little colored kids, take me along, Daddy, God bless you.”

~~ Louis Armstrong wrote in a letter to Eisenhower.

to which we respond, Happy Birthday Satch, Rest in Peace and may G-D bless YOU.
