Reflection of 140 West on 7WTC

we've shot variations of this image many, many times.
it fascinates us. :-0

140 West Street (the art deco building)
is reflected on the mirrored facade
of the reconstructed 7 World Trade Building.

on 9/11, 140 West was pierced by girders from
the WTC South Tower, in the end it remained
standing. now its been repaired,
and is in use.

on 9/11, 7 WTC was untouched by girders,
airplanes, or other major, heavy-weight material,
yet it collapsed utterly, completely
and unexplainedly. the 9/11 Commission Report
didn't even try. the entire event was omitted!
the building was rebuilt within months.
and is in use.

:-|

on the other side from both,
across Vesey Street,
is the Big Ditch called
Ground Zero.

the Freedom Towers have been under
construction for more than eight years
(longer than the original WTC,
and years after 7 WTC was rebuilt)
and yet there's nothing resembling a building
in site!

:-(

Sad that nothing has been built on the site. I don't understand that.

I love the way you shot this. It almost looks like someone painting on the side of the building.

Another great photo.

I love the reflections of buildings on other buildings. But I'm pretty sure you meant reflections a different way. Since, I'm still in a bit of grieving mode about 9/11, I'm going to use the visual reflection here.

Wow, I love the photo, great shot! It reminds me of when I lived in downtown Chicago. I would look out my window and watch the reflections in the John Hancock building sometimes for hours.
